If you believe that kindness is the same thing as weakness in the business world, then you have missed the boat on the whole intent of social media network marketing. The advent of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media venues began as and continues to be a process for people to interact. The basic fact is this: people choose to continue to interact with other people they find, nice, informative and interesting.

Attraction Marketing

You may point out that I advocate using Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for lead generation. You may be thinking, how does that work? I have found that it all starts with Attraction Marketing, as laid out by the king of MLM marketing, Mike Dillard. Instead of having to search for leads, your goal is to have people search for you and your MLM opportunity. As Mike Dillard has often said; "Be the hunted not the hunter."

The standard definition of attraction marketing is the theory that you attract people to you rather than you going after them. Not only is this a new marketing concept, it is the opposite of traditional marketing where you engage in sales activity when you first approach a prospect or person. With the attraction marketing concept, people contact you about your products, services and opportunity because they see you as an expert.

Obviously, it sounds impressive, but how do you do it? Mike Dillard explains. You have to brand yourself as an expert in the network marketing industry. Experts are go-to people. You will develop a following when you become branded as an industry leader. As you get a following, you are also building a bigger customer base and a network of prospects that will make you amazing wealth.

The Role of Kindness

A favorite quote of mine is from Plato: "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." It is true that life is hard. So you can count on just about everyone you talk is facing a challenging day in one way or another, from your family and friends, to your employees, from your customers to prospects, even the strangers you meet or just your neighbor. This is especially true in today's troubled economy.

Why is knowing others are fighting a hard battle important for you to understand as an entrepreneur or business owner? Simple - as I have already pointed out, people like to interact or do business with people they like and trust - but you need to also recognize that the greatest way to make that connection is by recognizing other's challenges and treating them with kindness and respect.

Think about the last "hard battle" kind of day you had. Did anyone treat you with a little extra kindness that day? Did anyone sense something was not quite right in your world and attempt to make your day a little better? Did anyone express thanks for your service or maybe give you a smile that lifted your spirits? Remember how this made you feel - Think of how it lightened your load, put a little bounce back in your step or helped you face the next challenge of your day.

It is still one of the greatest business strategies ever created: Kill people with kindness. It really does not matter who that person is, showing just a little extra kindness can make all the difference in your relationship. Plato not only understood the challenges of his day but also what the 21st century would be - so never underestimate the power of a little bit of kindness.

Kindness can lead to truly loyal employees, committed partners and life-time customers, especially when that person is facing a "hard battle" on any given day. Since you do not know the battles of the people you interact with over the Internet, just assume they are having them. You will be someone people want to know when they can see you are a nice person just by what you say in a Facebook entry, a tweet or a YouTube video.

What To Look Out For Before Starting A Business?

Everybody wants to be a boss of their own, and when you are running your own business you can be the same easily. Reason for starting a business can be anything from earning money to do a particular thing in ones own way. Irrespective of the reason, proper planning and management is very important when you are starting a business. If you have properly planned the project then you are sure to reap the benefits and achieve desired results. So making the right calls in the beginning is quite important.

First thing that you need to decide before starting a business is to which field you are going to get into. Explore your skills and area of expertise. It can be anything from a hair salon to IT venture depending on your level of education and expertise. Always try to choose a field where your mind and heart are. Avoid running after the monetary benefits only. If your heart is not into the business then more or less it is bound to fail. Also do the survey of the area where you are going to start the venture. Make sure that the product that you are going to sell is in demand in that area. If the competitors are less then you are bound to grow faster.

One thing that everybody expects while starting a business is the money. But it will not start pouring in from the day one. Initially you might have to work harder and the returns might be less. But with the time as your business grows you will start earning more and more. Also avoid overspending initially. You can take a place or room on rent initially than buying a building on loan. It is even better if you can use the store room or garage of your home initially. The money saved here can be invested into the business, giving it the required thrust.

Then decide on some catchy name and tagline for your product or business. The locals should be able to easily relate to it. Initially try to take workload on yourself to avoid paying for the extra man force. Meet the financial institutions or money lenders and present your business plan to them. If they feel that it is a good plan then they can offer you the finances easily and at discounted rates for starting a business. Also keep in touch with some of the local lenders for you might need some urgent money at some point of time. In face of stiff competition some of the local vendors might provide you the required inventory at credit. It will help you in making less investment initially and the vendor will also get the required business. As soon as you start making the profits make sure that you make as much payments as possible to these vendors who helped you in the difficult times while starting a business. This will help in developing bond which can be beneficial for you in future.

If you have taken care of these points while starting a business then running your business successfully will be an enjoyable experience for you and the people involved with it.

Before staring up a business you have to make a business startup check list. Startup check list is important for the future of the company. It should be made clear that this article is not for a person who is setting up 2 billion dollar company. This startup checklist is not for them. Target of this article is the people who have to setup new business from scratch, with low budget startups.

First and the foremost thing that is to be taken care off is that whatever you start you must have interest in that field and you must have good hand in that field. Second thing you have to do is to gain knowledge related to that field. Gaining knowledge implies, your product, your competitor, their marketing strategies, how big they are, how much market share they hold. You must also know how their supply chain works. Who all are their suppliers and how much they bear from them. Business startup checklist's next check will be to research that how you can manage to out smart them and bear the cost of product at lower price keeping future aspects in mind.

If your research turns up positive, you move to next step in Business startup check list. Next thing in our startup checklist is sorting all the legal aspects that relate to your business. For new startup you have to register your company first. One thing I will mention here from startup checklist is that make sure what you are selling is legal and all routes you take are also legal.

Now when we come down to next item in business startup checklist it is setting up business plan. This is pivotal in your startup checklist. This will decide your path to the future of business. This has to be followed by marketing plan. New business startup with out this is like moving in an unknown place without direction or a map. For new business startup there are two very important things. When all this is done your business needs to have an ordered structure. Ordered structure means you inventory management, supply management, material management.

Business startups are very critical for your business future. If you compromise on any aspect in the starting it will linger on and will result in some big goof up later on. So your business startup has to be very organized. Manpower is also a big issue. You have to manage you manpower and make sure that they do not screw up the things. Business also needs insurance legalities to be sorted. Security of you manpower is very important so you have to meet the security levels for you man power. Business startup sounds easy but needs lot of hard work and legal tangles. I hope his article will have given a head start to your business setup plans.

Heidi Klum is certainly a role model for women who wish to jump straight back into work after giving birth. The supermodel and mum of four was supposed to host last month's ‘Victoria's Secret Fashion Show', but instead showcased the clothes themselves by making a shock trip down the catwalk. Dressed to the nines in a flowing skirt and embellished corset, the model certainly set an example to recent mums by embracing her new curves. The model admitted to loving her new figure and the way the designer outfit fitted her.
Hosting the show would have been a lot less pressure but mum to four including Henry, Leni, Johan and Lou Sulola definitely showed the public that she is not one to work from home.

Heidi Klum currently switches between part time jobs of presenting and modelling and has eased her way back into employment just six weeks after giving birth. One of the models part time jobs includes presenting ‘Project Runway', a reality TV programme which shows contestants battle it out in order to create the most unique designs. Her main past time of course is rocking the runway and she has definitely shown she's back in shape despite the recent birth of her daughter Lou Sulola. The model has wasted no time in getting back in top condition, she regularly exercises and also has a personal trainer who makes sure she doesn't work too hard so soon after giving birth. Running around after four kids who all desire her undivided attention, its no wonder the model looks in top shape, she probably gets a daily work out before she even begins work!

Despite various part time jobs, the ‘Project Runway' presenter still spends lots of quality time with her family and makes sure they all regularly sit together for an evening meal. She is obviously someone who leads a very upbeat fast-paced lifestyle and adding one more addition to an already large family hasn't stopped her career. As a role model to new mums she certainly shows dedication to both her family and her many part-time jobs.

Starting a Business – What is a Business Plan?

So you've decided to start your own business - congratulations! It's a huge leap from letting someone else take care of taxes, accounting, payroll, inventory, and/or a myriad of other activities necessary to run a business. However, running your own business has its advantages, too. You get to be your own boss, set your own hours and days to work, and are responsible for your own success. It can be a great way to free yourself from the tedium of 9-5 and work at doing what you love, but you have to begin by asking a few questions:

1. Are you doing what you love, or just doing something you’re good at? A desire to get away from the regular working world can be a good motivation to work for yourself, but you have to be excited to get up in the morning to do what it is you have chosen to do for a living.

2. What is it you are planning to do? What niche is it going to fill? Is there a need for what you can provide? Will the market bear another entry?

3. What technical skills or talents do you have? Just being able to do something may not be marketable enough to convince customers or financiers that you are a good financial investment.

4. Who are your competitors in your chosen profession and how are you going to do it better? Why should customers come to you? What do you have to offer that no one else does?

Once you are satisfied with the answers to these questions, it is time for the decision of what kind of business structure you will use. Will you be a sole proprietor, responsible for every facet and the penultimate authority as to how to run the business? Will you enter in with a partner, the better to share the cost and workload, but also the profits and the business decisions? Perhaps the decision will be made to incorporate, with its financial safeguards but more complex and costly structure? At this stage, legal advice is recommended, if only so that you fully understand the advantages and disadvantages of your chosen structuring plan. Many lawyers will provide a free or reduced-rate primary consultation, though often not more than an hour. When the structure is finalized, a name for the business should be decided upon, if not already having been done so in advance. It should be easy to remember, avoid initials and single letters (B & L & R, Inc. will be difficult to remember for customers) and try to say something about the business (Bob’s House of Hobbies is easier to remember and spell).

Next, a business plan is a vital step in laying out all these topics and proposals in a standardized format. A good business plan serves as a formal statement of the new company’s goals, financing, structure and legal considerations. It acts as a “resume” to prospective investors and is the primary documentation they will use to evaluate whether or not your business will be worth investing into. It also provides the proprietor(s) with a chance to see the workings of the new business in black and white. A basic business plan should at the least contain a balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flow, as well as a proposed financial budget for the first year, or as long a period as necessary if a year is impractical.

So with these quick tips, plan for success, and good luck in your chosen endeavor!

© 2006, Wholesale Pages UK.
Finding Recession Proof Franchise Opportunities That Work For You

How do you make your money grow? With the economy in shambles, and personal finances in disarray, this may not look like the right time to look into investing into a franchise. The truth is, though, this might actually be the perfect to invest. Why you might ask? Because buy-in's are cheap and companies are willing to bend over backwards for people who have the money to purchase one of their franchises. The key is finding the right one: something stable and secure, something, as the professionals call it, "recession proof".

The good thing about finding a "recession proof" business is that they are easier to spot then you might think. You need to think of businesses, or professions, that have stood the test of time, businesses that people turn to even in the worst economic situations. It's all about separating what people "need" away from what people merely "want". The average consumer will cut the "wants'" out of their budgets long before they cut out the "needs". This especially goes for children. Parent's will usually sacrifice their own "wants'" long before their children's, and thus a children's "needs" are generally the last thing to go from a families budget.

For example, every kid needs a haircut and parents are rarely willing to cut their kid's hair on their own. This is why a children's salon franchise would be a great business to look into become a franchisee of. Hair always grows no matter what the economic climate and if you're able to gain a loyal client base your likely going to be able to watch your investment grow right in front of your eyes.

The average child usually gets his or her hair cut at least once every two months. That means if you make a great impression on parents by giving their child a good hair cutting experience, you'd be likely to see them at least six times a year. Parents are usually looking for something more than a great haircut, though. Since children's haircuts are usually fairly basic, they could take their kids anyway to get them. No, parents are looking for a place where their kids will enjoy their haircut so there won't be any tantrums when it comes time for the next one.

When it comes to a hair cutting experience, children want someplace where they feel comfortable. This can mean anywhere from a comfy chair to bells and whistles such as televisions, balloons or a small "prize" at the end of a haircut. The key is thinking what a child would want, as well as what would make a parent trust your establishment. By just using your head you'll develop a business model, such as this idea of a salon franchise, that will keep parents coming back, as well as a franchise that is "recession proof".

Stacey Solomon: A Working Mum

Stacey Solomon is fast becoming the most respected working mum in the UK. Dedicated to supporting her young son, Zachary, the X Factor singing sensation is quickly winning the hearts of the public with her bubbly nature and angelic voice.

All the girls in the competition bar Stacey have rapidly dwindled, leaving her to be the only female vocalist competing for the X Factor crown. Stacey clearly has the likeability factor which goes a long way in the X Factor, if you're not liked; you're out on your ear, as proved by the consecutive eliminations of Rachel Adedeji and Lucie Jones.

Week in, week out, Stacey delivers a top performance, proving her to be a consistent singer with a voice that you'd never expect to have such a thick Dagenham accent! On stage, Stacey shines and its all for her son Zachary:

‘Single motherhood is tough, but I'm determined to be the one that provides for my son,' she said.

‘I would love to win this for [Zachary]. It would mean everything. I'd be able to get him into a good school and get him all the things he needs.'

Stacey's work ethic as a single Mum is something to be admired, she's finally getting her big break and her impending singing career will require her to juggle an exciting new lifestyle and a foray into the music world with raising a young son. Despite her ditsy nature, it is clear that Stacey is under no illusions that success after the X Factor is not guaranteed, saying: ‘there's always Asda'.

With her feet firmly on the ground, Stacey continued to hold down part time jobs right until she passed her first X Factor audition as well as attending a performing arts course at Havering College and raising her young son, so she already knows a thing or two about juggling a family and a career. She's currently seeing her son once a week while she lives in the X Factor house which is proving to be hard, but Stacey knows the X Factor could be her launchpad to providing a better life for Zachary.

Working mums like Stacey Solomon are exemplary women who are to be admired for their dedication to supporting their children.
